How do leagues work exactly?
|
|
Well, first you select a league to subscribe to. Once you are joined to a league we will email you as soon as the league is full and games will commence. Games will run 24 hours a day and each registered league member will play the allotted number of games (usually 5). The games will be single table tournaments (10 people) or multi-table tournaments (number of tables varies per league, usually between 200 and 300). For every game you play you will be awarded a score based on your finishing position. The higher the better, obviously. After you have played all the allotted games you will be given a total of all your previous scores, which is your final league score and determines your overall league ranking. Just like in normal poker tournaments your final ranking then determines your prize amount.

How are the scores calculated?
|
Very simply: you are given 10 points just for taking part, and then you get 10 more points for each person you out last in the tournament. For example:
30 person multi-table tournament, you finish 5th: (25 x 10) + 10 = 260 points.
For single table table tournaments you would get 100 for 1st place, 90 for second, and so on down to 10 points for last place:

Using the points you earn during a game your league score is then calculated based on the total number of games you have played. If you have not yet played the minimum number of qualifying games for the league it is taken as an average of this. For example:
Scenario 1
In 5 game league Bill plays 3 games and scores 40, 50 and 60 points in each game. His current score would be:
(40 + 50 + 60) / 5 = 30
Note: in this scenario Bill has played only 3 games whereas the league is a 5 game league. Therefore if the league were to end then Bill would not qualify for the prizes because he has not played 5 (or more) games.
Scenario 2
In the same league Bill now has played 5 games and scored 50 in each of the extra games (he now qualified for the prizes). His current score would be:
(40 + 50 + 60 + 50 + 50) / 5 = 50
Scenario 3
In the same league Bill now has played 8 games and scored 50, 80 and 100 in each of the extra games (he now qualified for the prizes). His current score would be:
(40 + 50 + 60 + 50 + 50 + 50 + 80 + 100) / 8 = 60
In the event of tied score the player who has played the most number of games is ranked higher. If the same number of games are played then the prize pool is split accordingly.

| What leagues are available, how do I join a league? |
| You may subscribe to a league through the website only. Your entry fee goes toward the final prizepool. Various leagues are available, though some are privately run and may require an invitation to enter. |
| Can I setup my own league? |
| Yes. If you have at least 10 players to invite to join a league then we can set you up a private league. You will need to decide on the entry fee ($5 minimum), the number of players and/or the starting date for the league. For each new player you bring to the league you will also earn referral bonuses. Contact us for more information. |
| What type of poker played in the leagues? |
| A league may be exclusively Sit and Go No Limit Hold'em, scheduled multi table tournaments, or a combination of the two. Cash games (limit, pot limit and no limit) are not eligible for league play because league ranking is based upon tournament finishing positions. For example, a league could be setup that comprises only single table tournaments, in in which each player will play 5 in total. Or it could be setup to be 8 multi-table tournaments scheduled once per week for 50 people, in which each player must play at least 3,4,5 or whatever. In choosing a league consider your poker strengths: are you better at single table tournaments, or multis, or both? |
| Where can I find league games? |
| In the game lobby under the "League" section. If you are registered for the league to which a game is associated you can simply sit in and play. One league game credit will deducted from you total |
| I did not get to play enough games to qualify for the payout, what happens now? |
| You are given plenty of time to play the minimum number of games for each league. If you did not play them all and the league has finished you will still be given a score but it will be an average score based on all the games, including the ones you failed to play. So if you needed to play 5 games but only played 4 then we will take the score for each of the four games and average them as if you got that score playing 5 games. This is done because the scores are an average and prevents people from playing one game and winning and then never playing again because their average (1 victory out of 1 attempt) is so high. In short, you have plenty of time to play the games (you could even do it all in 1 day!). |
